Disney Springs Reopens today!

Information from Disney parks Blog

Great news for the Disney fans out there! Disney Springs is beginning a phased reopening starting May 20th. With the additional support and guidance of the government and health officials, a limited number of third party operating participants will begin to reopen during this initial phase.

The rest of Disney will remained closed throughout this time, including Disney world Resorts, parks and resort hotels.

Matt Simon, Vice President of Disney Springs states that the health and safety of their guests and Disney cast members are at the forefront of the reopening planning. For this reason there will be some operational changes that will enhance the safety measures. This will include increased cleaning procedures and the use of face masks by both guests and cast members. Disney springs will also be attempting to navigate a world with limited contact which will take additional safety training for cast members.

During the initial opening phase, Disney Springs will have a limited capacity, parking and operating hours. As this is such an unprecedented situation, the protocols and restrictions may change over time and more information will be available throughout the opening process.

Matt Simon asks that Disney Springs’ guests practice patience and understanding as they navigate through this difficult process.

Comments on the Disney Springs reopening announcement range from excitement that life is starting to return to normal, to anger at wearing masks in the Florida heat.

Either way you choose to look at it, the opening of such an iconic destination has provide some hope in this time of need.
